The Key to victory in the battle against sexual exploitation and brokenness rests in Jesus and our communion with Him.
"You don't have it because you haven't asked for it," said Jesus (paraphrased of course).
Prayer is the entrance into a conversation that God has initiated - and it’s designed to build trust between us and him - precisely in the way that conversation builds relationships between people. When we intercede, we get to ask God for things like freedom and release for captives. We get to thank him for changing the hearts of traffickers, pimps and people in the porn industry. But we also receive from him. The ultimate gift we receive in prayer is God’s heart and mind for the situation we’re engaging with him in.
So let’s tune our hearts to listen for his voice, because to stand firm as we cooperatively work with Jesus to dismantle this stronghold, we need his heart. He will not give the nations to a people who cannot hear his voice - and he’s anticipating a transfer of love from his heart to ours each time we pray.
